About this gpa calculator
Calculate a weighted grade point average (GPA) on the standard US 4.0 scale from a list of grades and credit hours. Enter one course per line as "Grade,Credits" — for example "A,3" — and this tool multiplies each grade's standard 4.0-scale points by its credit hours, sums the results, and divides by total credits to give your GPA. Use this workspace to prepare a result you can review before putting it to use. All processing takes place on your device, without an account or an upload of your inputs. Check the examples to understand the expected output, read the limitations for the supported scope, and reset the form when you want to start a separate task.
How it works
Grades map to points on the standard 4.0 scale (A=4.0, A-=3.7, B+=3.3, down to F=0.0). GPA = sum(grade points × credits) ÷ sum(credits).
Try these examples
"A,3", "B+,4", "A-,3"
GPA 3.63
"B,3", "C+,3"
GPA 2.65
Limitations & privacy
Uses the standard US 4.0 scale only, not a school-specific or weighted-honors scale. Up to 60 course lines, and credits must be between 0 and 20 per course.
Inputs and results stay in this browser. Only tool identifiers are stored for your recently used tools. You can clear that history from the directory.
