About this discount calculator
Work out the final price of an item after a percentage discount, along with exactly how much money the discount saves. Enter the original price and the discount percentage to see both figures at once, which is useful for comparing sale offers, checking a cashier's math, or planning a budget around seasonal discounts. The calculation is ordinary arithmetic performed entirely in your browser, so you can check several offers in a row without any of the amounts leaving your device.
How it works
The amount saved is the original price multiplied by the discount percentage divided by 100. The sale price is the original price minus that saved amount.

Limitations & privacy
Accepts a discount between 0% and 100%. Does not account for taxes, additional fees, or stacked discounts applied one after another, which can produce a different final price than a single combined percentage.
Inputs and results stay in this browser. Only tool identifiers are stored for your recently used tools. You can clear that history from the directory.
A few good questions
Does this handle two discounts applied one after another?
No. Enter the first discount, note the sale price, then run the calculator again on that new price for a second discount, since stacked percentages do not simply add together.
Can the discount be more than 100%?
No. A discount above 100% would mean a negative price, so the tool caps the input at 100%.
Does this include sales tax?
No. It calculates the discount on the original price only. Add tax separately based on your local rate and whether it applies before or after the discount.
