About this passport & id photo maker
Turn an ordinary photo into a correctly sized passport, visa, PAN card, or government-exam photo. Choose a document type and this tool crops your photo to the exact required aspect ratio, resizes it to the precise pixel dimensions those documents need, and compresses it to fit any stated file-size limit. Use the zoom and vertical-position controls to frame your face the way most application forms require. An optional background step estimates your existing background color from the photo's edges and fades it to white, sky blue, light gray, red, or any custom color you pick, which suits forms that specify a particular background color.
How it works
Standard document sizes are stored in millimeters and converted to pixels at 300 DPI. The photo is cropped to the target aspect ratio around its center, shifted by your zoom and vertical-position settings, then drawn onto a canvas at the exact target pixel size. If background replacement is on, the average color along the image's edges is sampled and pixels close to that color are faded toward your chosen color, with a soft-edged threshold rather than a hard cutout. When a preset specifies a maximum file size, JPEG quality is reduced step by step until the output fits.

Limitations & privacy
Background replacement estimates a single background color from the photo's edges and is not AI subject segmentation, so it works best with a plain, evenly lit original background; a patterned, shadowed, or cluttered background can leave halos or incomplete edges around hair and shoulders. This tool cannot correct poor lighting or verify that a photo meets every rule of a specific passport or visa authority. Always confirm current requirements with the issuing authority before submitting. Maximum one photo, 20 MB.

Can this remove any background like an AI photo editor?
Not quite. It estimates one background color from the photo's edges and fades matching areas to your chosen color. A plain, evenly lit original background gives the cleanest result; a busy or shadowed one may leave visible edges.
Can I use this for a country not in the preset list?
Yes. Choose Custom size and enter the required width and height in millimeters.
Why would I need a colored background instead of white?
Some visa and ID photo rules specify a particular background color, such as light blue or red, rather than white. Pick a preset swatch or enter a custom color to match what's required.
