About this nutrition calculator
Estimate adult daily energy needs from height, weight, age, the selected formula sex coefficient, and an activity multiplier. Set protein and fat percentages to see an illustrative split in grams, with carbohydrates taking the remainder. This general tool is for adults aged 18 and over and is not a meal plan. It is not suitable for pregnancy, breastfeeding, eating disorders, medical conditions, or decisions about medication or supplements.
How it works
The simplified Mifflin–St Jeor equation is 10 × kg + 6.25 × cm − 5 × age, plus 5 for the male coefficient or minus 161 for the female coefficient. Resting energy is multiplied by the chosen activity factor. Protein and carbohydrate use 4 kcal/g; fat uses 9 kcal/g.

Why does the formula ask for sex?
The original equation has two sex coefficients. This is a model limitation, not a complete description of individual physiology.
Can children or pregnant people use it?
